Journal Journal: Apache on Playstation 2

I have the official Linux kit from Sony, for my Playstation 2. It's quite cute, except that I'm not a massive fan of Linux.

Anyway, it comes with loads and loads of packages, and I set about installing a few of them, just for kicks.

I installed Apache 1.3.20, just because it was there. It seemed quite snappy and responsive, but only a few days ago did I get around to benchmarking it. It's quite impressive.

This is over twice the performance I got from my Sun Blade 100, running Solaris 8.

Interesting?

Journal Journal: I was bored

I was quite bored yesterday, so I loaded pictures of our users at work into the Gimp and drew glasses and moustaches and top hats and pipes onto them. Is that unethical? It made me feel a load better...

Journal Journal: I like Perl

I like Perl quite a bit. I write things in it. Things to do things. I learnt Perl one day. I wish I still knew C. I want to write some Playstation 2 stuff, and I should do it in C, not sh. My Playstation 2 runs Apache, but I haven't yet benchmarked it. I like Apache.
