Journal: My first entry.

What, no topic named '1337 h4x0r'?

Anyway, this is my first entry, so I should probably introduce myself. The name is from a painting I was studying in art history class when I decided to create an account on Slashdot...I'm one of those with as many monikers as there are IRC servers :P Name is really sam, I hang out on IRC as s4mmy. So, I'm a college student just learning to code in C++, yay. I am in love with computers and have delved into linux administration as well as (/me pukes) Windows 98/2000 administration. Webdev's cool too, although I am too waffly to do a webpage. I keep telling myself that I want to do a dynamic site since I want to keep a journal and display links that change (not ads, banners for osdn and stuf)f, but that means learning Perl or PHP or something. I think I would rather learn Perl because of its usability elsewhere, as PHP is totally web-oriented and that is not quite what I want to do.

I drive a 94 Honda Civic EX with about 140,000 miles on it. Fortunately my great-uncle manages an Acura dealership so I'm getting new brakes and upper left ball joint done for free. Tomorrow, in fact. Although I must say nothing else is bad with the car except some dumb interior stuff. I got it for $1500, which is a steal! I could sell it for 3 or 4, but I need a car that can last me a long time and one that my uncle can also fix for free!

I enjoy smoking the herb, what can I say. I like to read, usually a textbook :/ but that's OK cause I like learning too. If I'm not on the computer surfing the web I'm either doing something to my car, relaxin with my girl, or playing PS2 (and a lot of Brood War.) I enjoy playing more of the Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger (yes, its old, but it rocked) kind of games. If you don't know Chrono Trigger and you like Final Fantasy, check it out.

That's about all I can think of for the first entry. I guess I will just have to go hang out on IRC now :)
