Journal Journal: Why Mozilla's standards support is superior.
Something tells me that no one will actually read this -- but hey, I feel like ranting. So
In a recent discussion I was challenged on a claim I made: that Mozilla has vastly better standards support than any other browser. The discussion was complex and at times a bit rude, and I feel that the other participant completely ignored much of what I had to say, but there were some important points made. At the very least, some doubt was cast on the argument I had used to defend my claim (that, numerically, Mozilla supports more standards than other browsers).
Since then, I've realised that this argument wasn't actually what I'd been thinking of when I first made the statement. So, on my Web site I've put up an alternative argument explaining why I think that Mozilla has superior standards support: basically, that Mozilla.org is more forward-looking in what standards it chooses to support than anyone else. Perhaps I'm wrong; but at least this reasoning is stated more clearly and precisely.
