Journal: HURD and SCO

I was thinking that SCO is trying to stop the use of free software. They seam to think that GNU/Linux is the only free Operating system, and if they stop Linux they will stop GNU. We as the free software community need to prove them wrong. The next step in escalating the SOC war is to finish HURD. If we had two working kernels then the it would not matter if they shock public confidence in Linux we could just change to HURD. I'm wondering what is holding up HURD. What needs to happen for HURD to be ready for main stream use? If the Linux kernel developers could spare time and get Hurd finished that would most likely put an end to SCOs outrageous clam's.
