Journal Journal: Krispy Kreme: It's just a donut 1

Living in a medium-small city sucks for lots of reasons. One thing is that everyone goes ga-ga over the tinyest sign of metropolis life. When krispy kreme came to down there was no exception. They plopped it down right next to all the other new stuff in the ever northward expansion, still trying to escape the vast tracts of ghetto/ghost town that lie south. In all honesty it's a great location, right next to upper-middle class suburbia, and right off the end of the freeway, where the CHP turns around.

The first day they were open, cars blocked access to/from the freeway all day, even after they opened up the surrounding dirt lot for parking, easily fitting an extra fifty cars. There was even three guys directing drive-thru traffic. If it were only one day I wouldn't rant, but the phonomenon continued for several days always lasting well into the night.

Now I'd never had a krispy kreme donut before so I thought maybe it was the worlds greatest donut, far superceeding the donut technology that I was used to. Still, I couldn't understand how people could get so excited about donuts. Today someone brought some into work and I had one. I've got news for anyone thinks otherwise or doesn't know any better...It's just a donut!
