I have a perfectly serviceable pc at the moment and not a lot of cash. Later this year I'm starting a Computer Science Degree and I need a computer I can lug to and from the university. I was going to buy a new laptop earlier this year but I settled for upgrading my pc at a much lower cost to the standard required for playing newish games. I'm trying to find a cheap laptop that I can install linux on and use for coding and note taking. I'm going to try ebay and maybe send a few begging letters. Perhaps about 5-10 years ago I could have got an ex-corporate system cheaply through my uncle but I don't see him or my aunt anymore because of family problems :\

This is the first entry on my slashdot journal, up till now I've used lj, but I'm incredibly bored so I'm posting here. There are a few things on my mind. I have a driving lesson tomorrow, I think my driving is improving but I don't like my instructor much. Then I have another problem. I'm socially inept. I hate new or unfamiliar situations to the degree that I rehearse what I'm going to say to people in my head before I do. Tomorrow I have to go and get my hair cut, last time they didn't cut enough and what they did was wrong. Then at 4pm I have an interview. It's for a retail job and being so shy I'm going to have a hard time "selling myself" for the job. AHh well. I had better sleep soon I suppose. Night.
