Journal Journal: After Election Observances
The election went a lot smoother than what most people expected. I'm glad that no big problems existed. Some observation points I'd like to make:
* Michael Moore's Farehieght 911 "documentary" did not do as much as planned.
* The Democrats loving Michael Moore but Sinclair broadcasting a show on Kerry's Vietnam service and surrounding controversies was somehow unfair (free speech for Democrats but not Republicans)
* George Soros wasted millions trying to get Kerry elected
* All the celebraties supporting Kerry didn't help: Springsteen, Affleck, Whoopie Goldberg, Rosie Odonell
* Democrats in Congress claiming there would be massive voter intimidation and demanding UN poll watchers. This never materialized.
* Lawsuits brought in Florida before the election claiming race discrimination because some non-whites did not properly fill out their voter registration cards.
* The "mainstream" media giving a pass to John Kerry's voting record while being a Senator.
* The "mainstream" media ignoring John Kerry's unusual circumstances around his first and third purple hearts, but reporting information on Bush's National Gaurd record using information that was easily proven fraudulant
* Openly reporting the claim that 375 tons (or was it 400?) of explosives "disappeared" on Bush's watch while claiming there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq
* Reporting little when information via a US soldier came forward saying he was responsible for removing the "lost" explosives
* No one (in the media) not raising any eyebrows when a Kerry campaing worker said they were making a list of media organizations that were "pro-Bush" (or anti Kerry), and the organizations on the list would have a hard time under a Kerry administration
* The Swiftboat Vets were liars or exaggerators, but some guy in Texas who NEVER served with Bush is a legitimate source for Bush's National Gaurd service records
* Exit polls showing Kerry with strong support. when Bush was actually leading (hmm... last minutes tactics to push Kerry to victory???)
* Tom Daschle's campaign going to court because of "voter intimidation" of Native Americans. The judge was appointed by Daschle, and the main witness was a supporter of Howard Dean who was from Virginia, working in Iowa and had been in South Dakota for 48 hours. Who claimed that the rolling of eyes by Republicans was "intimidaton"
* Moveon.org's outrages claims agaisnt Bush
* Osama bin Laden wanting John Kerry to win
* Arab countries know for hosting terrorism wanting Kerry to win
* communist China wanting Kerry to win
* communist Noth Korea wanting Kerry to win
* all the 527 organizations supporting Kerry or anti-Bush. There were few pro-Bush or anti-Kerry ones (or they never got the attention the others did)
* John Kerry attempting (and too successfully) trying to get the US popluations to see Iraq as a failure (eventhough most of the important dates set for by Bush have been met)
* It didn't matter that John Kerry voted to cut 6 billion from the intelligence budget after the first WTC attack in 1993.
* It's bad for Bush to pick pro-life judges, but ok for Kerry to pick judges who think it's okay to kill babies.
