Journal Journal: From the mind of an Athiest...

I am an athiest. I was raised with the freedom to choose what I wanted to believe, never forced to go to any sort of church, and come from a mostly athiest family (including extended). After much thought there are several reasons for why I choose not to believe in any sort of god. these reasons include such unanswerable questions such as if there is an all-powerful god, then why does he/she/it permit "evil" things to occur, such as murders, rape, etc.? If this is because this god is unable to prevent such things, then they are obviously not all-powerful and as such should not be considered to be a god. Also, if this god created the universe, everthing in it, then why are people born into other religions, and why/how do these other religions exist in the first place? If your answer to this is simply "all others are misguided, and wrong", then whose to say that your religion is not also wrong? If such a god exists, then why do we not have any physical proof that said god exists, and is truly a "god"? Also, if it were true that such a being created the universe, what is this beings' reason for existance? what is ours?... To say that god has forgiven us for our "sins" and that we should accept jeebus as our saviour, or whatever other religions say, is ridiculous. I never asked to exist. I had no choice, and to say we should worship some mythical being and be thankful for life is utter BS. Why should we thank something for introducing you to pain and suffering? disabilities? disease? sadness and depression? There was a time when none of us existed, so why couldn't it stay that way, you wouldn't have to worry about anything then. The way I look at death, is that it can't be that bad, since we have been there before we came into this world. So, until you can present to me physical evidence that such a superior being exists, I will live my life to the fullest, free from the oppression of a religion and with freedom of thought and freedom to enjoy my life. And if a god does exist, it should have no problem appearing before us to have a little chat. ;)

Journal Journal: blood tests suck

had to get a blood test today, to see if i can go on some new medication, so i went to the testing lab, they took 2 viles of blood from me and left me to sit for a few minutes. Just then i got a sick feeling in my stomach and started to feel a bit woozy. I then literally went blind and couldnt see anything with my eyes wide open, and had trouble breathing. The person who had taken my blood then came back and layed me down on one of those bed things that are in every doctors office and said i was on the edge of passing out... it soon passed and i was on my way, but nothing like that has ever happened to me and i have only had 1 other blood test several years ago, where they only took about half the amount of blood they took this time. All in all one of the most fucked up experiences i've ever had..

Journal Journal: STAY AWAY from linux kernel 2.5.58!!

well. finally got some free time and decided to upgrade my linux kernel to the newest dev. kernel (2.5.58) released yesterday. To my dismay it appears that this particular kernel has a large bug somewhere in it. On compilation everything goes ok until i get to "make modules_install", then all hell breaks loose :(. it throws back a [_modinst_post] Error 1 message, no matter what config i use... hm oh well NOBODY USE THAT KERNEL! back to 2.4.20 i go:(

...In other news.. i just found out that i won a free t-shirt from Linux Journal!!! woohoo... now i can be the coolest geek in my city :D
