Remember tiktaalik? Based on the rest of the fossil record and based on geology, scientists predicted that a certain fossil of a certain creature would be found in a certain kind of rock at a certain depth. It took them several years of digging but they found that fossil at that depth in that rock.
Seam's a little to convenien to me. If I was a so-called scinetist and spend years digging and didn't find anything I'd look pretty dumm, huh? If this was a bout police searching eviden's you'd call it entrappement or a fishing expedition. Look hard enough and you'll find something even if it aint nothiong their.
