Journal: Impressively horrified at Samsung Privacy and Software updates

Eye opening to buy 2 Samsung TVs. Updated software on one but not the other. Found that the older software lets you do more including set your own IP Address as well as run apps without needing to be connected to the internet (Which I need). Felt nice to have some sort of control, but not on the newer software. Having an advertising ID built in doesn't quite seem right. The privacy policy is extremely disturbing. This leads to a question - Why do we not have a privacy bill of rights in the country? Every device we buy seems to work against us now. I personally am no longer able to trust companies and/or products that I once did (i.e our old Samsung TV, Windows 7 before the telemetry updates, older Roombas, etc) were great. What do you think?
