Journal: I don't understand why people use journals

I don't really understand why people use journals, on this site or others that support a similar concept. Perhaps there's simply no desire to pay for hosting? At any rate, the reason for this entry is simply to point you at where I keep my "journal" for real: My website, Jerf.org, or for IP issues and misc other things, my weblog, iRi.

I have vastly more control and more power over those things then I would ever have in a journal, so toodles.
