Journal Ethelred Unraed's Journal: [Junior] Games, games, games 10

Or, "How a Geek is Gradually Emasculated".

Recently we were out shopping for Baby Stuff(TM) and I managed to con my wife into a mini-geek-out in the department store (i.e. stroll through the aisles with PS2 games and digicams and 3G cellphones and stuff and just drool), and they had a copy of XIII, which I held up to show Bride of Ethelred. She remarked, mommy-to-be that she is, that I should rather find something with Winnie the Pooh or somethin'. So I went looking for Winnie the Pooh: Payback Time or Tigger: Lock and Load or Eeyore: Who You Callin' an Ass, Mofo, and was roundly disappointed to find that they weren't in stock.

Damn.

  • Now THAT is a great title for a game :-D
    • I'm so there. Try making it through all the levels using only his detachable tail with that little tack, instead of the Desert Eagle .50 cal or Cyanide-laced hunnypot.

Oh, when you're on Level Three [Die Piglet, Die!], make sure you shoot that little pig again after he's lying on the ground, or he'll come back in Level 6 [T(r)igger Trouble]

  • Tigger: Lock and Load

you sir, came pretty close to owing me a new keyboard and having to replace a half a bottle of water.

    LOL!!!!!

  • Joey isn't quite 2, yet, and still hasn't played a videogame, yet. And it isn't from lack of trying ;-)

I'd wait a bit before you worry about that. The most Jr will do in 6 months is play with stuff he can grab (and he won't even be grabbing for a couple months).
  • ... can be found here [croteam.com]. Sure, it's not on PS2, only on PC and Xbox. But it has everything you need to get Junior properly educated in the ways of the world.
    Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh yourself, you headless freak!

Sniff... sniff sniff... I smell some serious firepower around here!
  • It's called Piglet II: Piglet pops a prostitute

It's based on the GTA engine. Pretty cool. About half way through the game he gets into a Pooh-mobile and much hilarity ensues.

    I'd highly recommend this game.
  • You have to start the geek training when they're young. This t-shirt [thinkgeek.com] ought to be a good start. It almost makes me want to have a kid, just to dress it up in this stuff :-)
  • I picked up Piglet's BIG Game [ign.com] and a PS2 for my 4.5 year old daughter... I'm new at the console thing, so it was a bit disquieting when I could not 'bravely face' one of the monsters. (she works the controls for most of the rest of the game) My immortal status may have slipped a notch or two in my little one's eyes. But who are we kidding here. (grin) I suspect there might be a game or two out there for dad...
