Journal Journal: Illegal RIAA? 1

This plainly doesnt make sence.

If the government goes after hackers for planting trojans and adware; hacking, why does the RIAA get away with planting trojans and aware it's self?

If they wish to do that, then why do they stop hackers and not the RIAA? It's the same thing, just different people.

With this downloading thing with all these torrent sites going down and all, I wouldn't really get too worked up about the torrent sites. I would get worked up about the sites that have all the cracks and cd keys.
'Cmon, where do you think the people who host these torrents get the keygenerators, serials, and cracks? They get them from crack sites!

Just a few thoughts about that.. I still think it doesnt make sence though.

Journal Journal: Traffic Reports

Pretty cool site that has reports on internet traffic within different coutries/places.

"The Internet Traffic Report monitors the flow of data around the world. It then displays a value between zero and 100. Higher values indicate faster and more reliable connections.

Your Internet surfing safari may be smooth today, but perhaps you can't reach Yahoo or a few web sites in Europe. This web site will tell you if those regions of the Internet are currently slowed down. By checking the Internet Traffic Report, you can determine if your problems are global or local."

Journal Journal: 99.9% of Bit Torrent sites sued by Hollywood movie studios

Almost 99.9% of Bit Torrent sites have been sued and shut down by the Hollywood movie studios.

FYI: BitTorrent is a popular peer-to-peer file sharing protocol with a central server.

Quote: BitTorrent is a protocol designed for transferring files. It is peer-to-peer in nature, as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file. However, there is a central server (called a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers. The tracker only manages connections, it does not have any knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed, and therefore a large number of users can be supported with relatively limited tracker bandwidth.

From: http://story.news.yahoo.com/... On Tuesday Dec 14th...

Quote: Hollywood movie studios...sued scores of operators of computer servers that help relay digital movie files across online file-sharing networks. The copyright infringement suits expand on a new U.S. film industry initiative whose first targets were individual file-swappers.

The defendants this time run servers that use BitTorrent, now the program of choice for online sharers of large files.

"Today's actions are aimed at individuals who deliberately set up and operate computer servers and Web sites that, by design, allow people to infringe copyrighted motion pictures," said John Malcolm, head of the Motion Picture Association of America's antipiracy unit.

It's funny. Laugh.

Journal Journal: Harvard Sucks

Extreamly funny prank that Yale pulled on Harvard at a football game.

They dressed up in a Harvard uniform and gave the Harvard people in the stands signs that when put together, said "We Suck". Of course, they said that it spelt out "Go Harvard!".

Best prank ever? You decide.
They've really hyped it up though. They even have a song about it.
