Journal: iPod Touch out of commission: replacement?

Yesterday, I decided to do laundry. And apparently my iPod Touch was dirty. Unforgivably dirty. So now, after a day of resuscitation efforts, I have my iPod awake and breathing, but it has trouble communicating with the outside world as its wifi capabilities are non-functional. I am now in the market for a new very-portable web-browsing device. I have the option of buying a now less expensive Touch, but I am wondering if the market has had new entries since the release of Apple's wonderboy. My question to you: Are there any other devices similar in (physical) size and price to the 8 GB iPod Touch that I should look into before padding Mr. Jobs' bottom line even more?
