Journal Journal: Cold, Colder Than ICE!
In the time since I last made an entry, I've become a total Linux geek. Though, is it really possible to use Linux without being classified as a geek? Maybe in the future, but for now... Anyway, I've installed about 5 distributions on my computer so far. Each of them are meant for older machines (if I were tell you the specs of mine, well, I would be setting myself up for a whole lotta embarassment). They are, as follows: BeatrIX, Damn Small, Vector, Puppy, and Feather. I also have another three, MiniCD, Slax and Caos that I've tried to install, but they don't cooperate with my computer (Slax DOES load, but it doesn't recognise my serial mouse).
Out of all the distros I've tried, Vector is my favourite. I opted for 4.0 instead of 4.3 or 5, though I should have really gone for 4.3. Damn small comes in at a close second, but would have been first if it could handle 1280x1024 resolution at a reasonable refresh rate. I currently have both installed in my hard drive. Windows.. is no where to be found.
It is a pain to install packages, and dependencies are my worst nightmare.. but in the end, it's all worth it so I can say to my friends, "You guys suck for using Windows." Mmm, really though, it is satisfying.
And that's all I have to say about that.
