Recently, I've had cause to look up the time zones in force at various points on the Earth. On the most part, it seems fairly resonable - as long as you like daylight saving time.

Personally, I think daylight saving time is a bit silly. It confuses things when your watch is an hour out for six months of the year.

But that's a different rant. The question here is:

What is /. time?

It seems from a quick sample (very quick), that a posters time zone (or local system time) gives her location away, to an extent.

Why can't we have SDT (Slash Dot Time)?

Where does Rob live? I don't care if that's the z-meridian. I would just like to be able to put my posts in time order with those of widely dispersed others.

After a week of murderous traffic, admiring the architecture of 'leafy' Cheshire, I will shortly be making a come-back to the world of bikes! Lovely.
