Just out of curiosity, when you "buy gold" do you actually get a chunk of yellow metal in the mail? Probably not, almost no one in the US does

I do, because I'm not an idiot. I get real gold at auction. You can buy paper gold if you want, but only if you're treating it as any other commodity. There is no safety aspect unless you have physical control. Besides, it seems like very large companies are performing fraction-reserve-like scams by selling more gold than they have.

Newspapers should take truth and accurate reporting seriously. They should have a science editor with a scientific background who can check the work of the reporters.

Sure, but who's going to pay for that? It's way cheaper to just print whatever's trending on Twitter. The public has clearly indicated that they don't really care.

It's fun to say it had only 256 bytes of RAM, but the reality is that only 256 bytes were available on the 16-bit bus. You could take advantage of this tiny space to use the full power of the 16 bit CPU, but even incurring the wait states and 8-bit access to use the 16K of RAM the system was comparable to its 8-bit competition (it helps that the clock speed was 3 MHz when most systems were 1 or 2).
