Comment Am I the only one? (Score 1) 185

Am I the only one who would rather tap in commands than speak to a device?
If I use it at home people or my dogs will assume I'm speaking to them.
Or the wife will respond with "What?".
Why use it in a public space, so people can hear what you're doing?
I'm sure there are hands free advantages for people, and I think Apple is amazing at pushing the envelope with new ways of doing things, so i'm sure I'll come around at some point.

Comment I don't entirely understand (Score 1) 348

I don't need to sit on the bowl forever, pooping takes me little time; squat, drop it, wipe, done. Unless something decides that it doesn't want to fully come out, and it involves waiting for gravity to do it's thing.
The other thing I don't get is; besides a bigger screen, what can a tablet do that my iphone can't, besides not fit into my pocket, and be awkward to travel with, without a bag of some sort?

This should have been in the summary, then I wouldn't have wasted my time thinking the Chinese military peacefully put down the protest, an the US government lied to us about it, and then for a few moments afterwards that Slashdot is controlled by the Chinese trying to put a different face on it.

Slashdot you're beginning to really suck.

Comment Microsoft decided they needed more time (Score 1) 276

Microsoft decided they needed more time to study how to make second rate imitations of the latest Apple products. But they're even behind the curve on being behind the curve, and while dropping the copying of Apple's decade old iPod, for the 3 year old iPhone, they've neglected to begin full scale imitation of the Apple iPad released last year. Someone should explain to Microsoft the difference between innovation, and imitation.
