What I mean, asshat, is that they're not even needed. I know how to screw on a cable to the modem. I know how to dial a phone number, and ask the same exact Indian lady with the horrible accent to please type in my modems mac address and hit a button on a form.

I know where I live, Charter has a monopoly on cable. There isn't much you can do about it; They've got the fastest internet. They charge you 50 dollars cash on the spot to hook up a modem and provision it for you. Hard stuff. The service techs they send to your house are dumb as hell too. They couldn't figure out the crappy interface that their newfangled modem / wifi router had installed on it. I laughed quite a bit after they couldn't figure out how to enable WPA2. Although, in their defense, the admin panel was designed by someone who didn't know what they were doing. So, basically, there is a lot they can improve on.

Scientist Uses Nanodots To Create 4Tb Storage Chip 207

arcticstoat writes "Solid state disks could soon catch up with mechanical hard drives in terms of cost and capacity, thanks to a new data-packed chip developed by a scientist at the University of North Carolina. Using a uniform array of 10nm nanodots, each of which represents a single bit, Dr. Jay Narayan created a data density of 1 terabit per square centimeter. The end result was a 4cm2 chip that holds 4Tb of data (512GB), but the university says that the nanodots could have a diameter of just 6nm, enabling an even greater data density. The university explains that the nanodots are 'made of single, defect-free crystals, creating magnetic sensors that are integrated directly into a silicon electronic chip.' Dr. Narayan says he expects the technology overtaking traditional solid state disk technology within the next five years."

IE Market Share Falls To Historic Low 472

An anonymous reader writes "Predicting that Microsoft will lose market share from month to month isn't especially difficult. Yet it is amazing to see the downfall of what was once a bastion for Microsoft. It appears that Microsoft can't defend IE against Firefox and, as it seems, Google's Chrome. Net Applications now believes that IE has a share of less than 60%, which is about the range that IE had in early 1999, when IE5 was launched. IE is now officially back in the 1990s. Chrome, by the way, is the fastest growing browser, both in absolute numbers and percentages. It is well ahead of Safari and more than tripled its share within 12 months."

This will never replace oil based plastics. All you need to do is look at how hemp isn't replacing wood products, paper, clothing, etc. There are too few people with too much money running the oil industry. If they don't want your little water-plastics taking over the market, then it won't be. Simple as that.

Says the guy who starts his post with the word 'Amen'... What is Public Trust? I don't care if someone takes pictures of my dead body. Go for it. I don't care if someone takes pictures of my dead kids either. Whats done is done, there's nothing I can do it about now. I don't get how you can lump taking some photos in with rape and torture. I think you're the one who should be hanged.
