I've seen people having small dogs like yorkshire terriers or the like even in social housing apartments with tiny balconies, an of course normally gutter punks and squatters are dog lovers.

Lead-Acid batteries are totally recycled to get back the raw materials and make other batteries. This could be done for automotive lithium batteries and even consumer grade ones to get back the raw materials. The biggest problem is that cobalt and nickel are recycled because they are expensive as raw materials, but for now the lithium isn't worth recycling.
Besides an automotive battery that has lost some capacity could be upcycled to be a static battery and used in an UPS and with solar panels, a bit like refurbishing tyres to stay on automotive consumables.

I remember, more than 20 years ago that we got some lectures about this newfangled thing, IPv6, got one of the authors of RFC 3053 talking about it. It was crystal clear that the only solution was to transition to IPv6.
At the university the network was born as DECNET one, because there were a lot of Vaxen, but they added TCP/IP networking because there was use for it. A transition to IPv6 should have been stared years ago: trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel isn't going to solve the problem, but only postponing it for a little timespan.
