And what exactly makes you think they will be less advanced than us? I mean it could possibly be, I'm just curious if there's a reason or not. Because what I first thought was that anyone else would likely be more advanced than us.

But 1000 years from now, observers in a planet 1000 light-years away will be receiving our current transmissions, in their very "old and inefficient" modulations.

Two things you didn't consider:

1) Not all those passengers went through security. I expect a reasonable percentage to be in transit and thus not required to go through security.

2) Not all the passengers that would go through security would have brought bottles to be scanned.

Could you kindly backup the other affirmation you made? Where the fact that since the cartels have better weapons, the DEA is having to upgrade theirs. Of course you'll find evidence of new weapons being used by the DEA / Border Patrol, but I'd like to see evidence that this is caused / required by the cartels having newer, better, badder weapons.

I know that the US/Mexico border is a very hostile environment but I don't believe it has reached the point of an arms race. The cartels don't cross the border in a way (facing and engaging the border patrol, like it would be in a war zone) that would justify the need for even more weapons on the US side. If it were so, then probably the US Military would have gotten involved already, instead of having to frequently upgrade the Border Patrol / DEA arsenal.

Not literally every water mollecule. There's A LOT of chemical reactions that produce water as a product or byproduct. If I remember my chemistry classes correctly, these water molecules were possibly created.
