Comment Czisch study gets overlooked (Score 1) 111

http://https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_super_grid/

It's a mystery me to why the studies by Dr Gregor Czisch aren't better known to those of us with a keen interest in energy policy. I've seen neither support nor refutation.

My suspicion is that they have been rejected out of hand on political grounds and not technical ones. Cooperation is required from North African states, Russia and the UK.

Comment Aussie here, I think we should have done better (Score 0) 300

We should have closed our borders to all countries when we closed them to China. We might have already eliminated it. How does it make sense to close just to one country? Someone travelling from China can just fly via another country!

A high proportion of our cases came from the US and cruise ships.

Our national government was dragged kicking and screaming by the state governments who have exercised the real leadership. if it wasn't for leadership from our two most populous states, we might be in trouble.

Comment Brexit won't happen (Score 2) 98

Brexit always was a big lie which the British parliament has seen through, even if the people didn't at the referendum. It won't happen. It doesn't matter who the PM is, the situation hasn't changed.

The British parliament won't approve the May deal, they won't approve no deal, all they will do is kick the can down the road till the next general election.

Whoever gets in after the election will either revoke article 50 or hold another referendum. If there is another referendum the people, who are sick to death of the whole business, will vote remain.
