You are correct that PVC and CPVC degrade under sunlight (due to UV). However, the penetration of UV is very shallow. I doubt it compares to the chemical changes caused by heat that affects the entire pipe, but I can't really answer that question for certain.

Other pipes used include acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polybutylene (PB), high-density polyethylene (PE), and cross-linked polyethylene (PEX). There are probably others. Each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

How all of these plastics behave when exposed to UV or heat is an interesting question that may not have an answer available. Given the discovery of chemical leaching after wildfires in California, I expect how heat affects these pipes will see more investigation soon.

The US Constitution indicates what powers are granted to the US Government. If it's not authorized by the constitution, the government can't do it.

The Bill of Rights identifies certain rights that the founders thought were so important as to need to be expressly identified. The ninth amendment covers rights that were not so identified "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

And then they threw in the tenth amendment to emphasize the fact that only delegated powers can be exercised "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

The first time I used my Bose QC35 II headphones I recognized that "flatter" sound. It's similar to being in an anechoic chamber. I think they work really well. My wife makes me take them off before she tries to talk to me because she knows I cannot hear her. She can watch television with the volume at a comfortable level for her and I can barely hear it with nothing playing in the headphones. Turn on some music or other sound in the headphones and the TV sound is unnoticeable.

MCAS is certainly much less expensive than extensively modifying the airframe to accommodate the larger engines. Such an airframe modification would have meant things like longer landing gear (which might not then fit in the fuselage when retracted), more wing dihedral (upward bend), and so forth. All of those hardware changes would be horribly expensive.
