Salma? You're condescending aren't you? Wasn't a true Libertarian? You're an idiot, he WAS (and is) the truest Libertarian. The Road to Serfdom was pivotal in creating Libertarianism. But hey, you're good at the googling of quotes to satisfy your confirmation bias, so go for it.

You're so right. There are many countries in the world that do not have a functioning stable government. Look at how well they're thriving. Libertarians (as understood commonly not necessarily the Hayek crowd) are some of the most naive people I know.

It used to be the market. Before social platforms gave every idiot a false equivalence with every expert it was the fact that newspapers had editors, standards and a profit motive for being accurate. The problem isn't "who decides?" the problem is "who pays?". Back in the day fools like flat earthers (or pick your favorite idiocy) had to pay their own bill to get their message out. The best way to suppress falsities is to ensure that the speaker pays for the privilege of speaking.

The US government has been spending MORE than it collects most years since its inception. Dollars are not a zero-sum-game and it actually doesn't matter very much. Comparisons to Venezuela or Germany are severely misguided. Think of Inflation/Deflation as a sink with a faucet running. The economy is the capacity of the sink itself. Deflation occurs when the sink never accumulates water while the faucet is on. Inflation is the amount of water in the sink relative to the amount the sink can hold. It's when (and only when) more is pumped into the sink that it can hold that we get run-away inflation such as you see in Venezuela. Taxes actually serve as a secondary valve in the system where money can be removed effectively lowering the volume of water in the sink. As long as the economy can provide the goods and services that the money available can purchase there is little problem with deficit spending.

Well no, as a parent it's pretty much your responsibility to make sure your kids get an appropriate education

That is ridiculous. We do not (can not) regulate who can become a parent and it is in all of our interest to make sure that people around us are as educated as possible. It is wrong headed and short sighted to assume that you do not have a responsibility to help with the education of the community you live in.

This is honestly kind of a brilliant way to float a "presence" balloon. IMHO: At first Amazon didn't get what Echo was. They thought of it as an internet connected speaker, when in reality it was a modern day "Thing" from the Addams Family. I think they've learned that lesson, but one of the most important attributes of Thing is that it understood who was where, and who was addressing it. A lack of contextual awareness is what makes all automation suck. I don't want motion sensors to know if I moved, I want home automation that knows which room I'm in. I also think this is a shot across Apple's bow.
