re-read the paper and you'll see: "Excellent long-term cycling performance of a sulfur cathode prepared via undissolved CMC binder and expanded graphite as the conductive agent at 0.2 C; CE (Coulombic efficiency) remains close to 100% after 200 cycles" The 200 cycles is not the lifetime. it is a testing period, and it is an excellent result. this is the start of a development cycle and improvement could be expected. cycling could extend beyond 1,000.

Edgar Mitchell probably was an intelligent guy and had an open mind. What do you think hitler would have thought, or someone from the ISIS leadership team. I think your reaction to seeing the earth is a matter of how your mind is wired. If the goal of this experiment is to transform minds, or create a new awareness, cool. but if the intention is to make the world better, good luck.

From the article, "The test correctly identified 92% of people who had Alzheimer's and correctly ruled out 85% who did not have it, for an overall accuracy of 88%." This does not identify a few key metrics, like false positives and negatives. It is possible that 1000 people get tested and 50 are told they have Alzheimer's while only 25 do, and that 950 will be told that they don't have Alzheimer's but 50 do have it.

not sure this counts, but i had an old Apple ][+ clone that i ran a BBS on back in the early 80s. I had a phone circuit that sent power to the computer when the phone was rang, which was able to boot up and answer the phone before the 4th ring. Once the session was over, i sent a signal through the game port (a 14 or 16 pin DIP socket) to de-energize the relay which unpowered the computer. I also found the pointer to where the "Apple ][" text was and re-directed to another location of NOPs so I could get 10 characters to show up on the screen at bootup instead of the usual 8. pretty basic stuff, but i was 13.
