Comment The Modern Way (Score 3, Insightful) 206

He was ignorant of modern scientific efforts. Nowadays, we take a vote among political activists, come up with a consensus, and ridicule anyone who believes in the minority. We don't need any of that mathematical proof or experimental evidence crap. It saves a lot of time. As soon as you have a majority, you can start belittling everyone else.

We are no longer hobbled by those ancient, useless beliefs, like "the scientific method". Ours is the enlightened age!

Could the government take control of someones self-driving car, so that when he gets in it transports him to their office instead of his requested destination? that would be an interesting way of capturing criminals. Have their car turn on tgem. Who would get any reward money, the car or or the car company?

I tried that once, but there was this freakish big thing floating above me. It was like a large light bulb. Looked like it was about to fall on me, so I ran back inside and hid under my bed for a week. I'm sure it's still out there, so I'm going to stay in her where I'm safee. You can't be too careful about those kind of things.

this has already been thoroughly debunked. It is well known that man cannot affect the weather. Just look up "Global Warming" or "Climate Change", and you will see that they specifically state than "man has no influence on the weather". Anyone who states otherwise is decried as a "denier", and thoroughly mocked.
Why would the United States spend Billions on this research, with significant tax increases, if it was true?

You must have never used Vista.
Besides constantly asking for confirmaion of 100s of different programs or updators, it will silently install some updates and then reboot, usually while you are doing something. I rarely use Windows any more, except when I need to do taxes. Its just too painful.
