Agreed. Potentially any Android device could be used. Can't wait to see the looks I get when I start wandering around my city with my Android phone with an TP link adapted connected to the OTG adapter and a Pringles tin taped to my head!

I second this. Reverse SSH would work a treat. It sucks to have the extra hop but it will do until your phone carrier decides to move with the times and allow IPv6.

He's using his cell phone which is presumably IPv4 only.

Install some bare bones rom onto it with VNC viewer, install with vncserver and all of a sudden, you've got a tablet that is acting as a wireless monitor with touch capabilities. I've done this before where I have installed Unity in a VM, used the tablet to connect to that in an VNC session and it works a treat. You'd probably noticed a hell of an improvement with the battery life also.

3:2 Aspect ratio for normal people who use their laptop to actually work and not watch movies! I can plug a sim card into it and code where ever I want. Sublime Text will look absofuckinlutely gorgeous on this. Color me excited.

I let people connect to my AP but they are greeted with a captive portal screen in their browser. Usually this turns most people off right away (The logs say so anyway!)

Oh, and you don't need pfSense for captive portal, I think dd-wrt does a relatively decent job of providing it also.
