Comment Re:MPAA quaking in their boots? (Score 1) 93

As of now, the big money the MPAA provides is still a prerequisite for a blockbuster action flick; smashing three dozen cars ain't cheap. But with improved CGI even that cost will be brought to effectively zero.

On the one hand you have a point here, but on the other hand there is a large visual difference between a practical effects with a little touch up and straight CGI.

I played it earlier today (Thanks Borderlands GOTY), it"s exactly what I expected from Duke Nukem game. Good or bad it's very much a "boy's game" with toilet humor, aliens, a buff dude fucking the aliens up, and chicks. When you start the game off taking a piss you kind of set the bar for expectations low.

Comment Re:Lots of theater problems actually (Score 1) 178

I've noticed most of those problems are gone if you go when the place opens during the week and find somewhere cheap, I pay $5 ($7 for a 3d) and it feels like I have a private screening. Sometimes the movie is a little late though (I talked with one of the managers about it on my out one day and he said they wait a max of 10 mins if they have less than %10 of the theater is sold). Then you can go to lunch afterward and bypass the concessions entirely. It's also got to see if new movies are worth it (usually reviews from average people are online by Monday after a movie comes out on Friday.)

After months this article got posted, the App Store STILL DOES NOT work properly. You still can't update an app from within the device by hitting "update". The button does nothing!

lolwut? My 3.1.3 Iphone 2g updates apps through the appstore just fine. That could be the only difference between running 3.1.3 and 3.1.2.
