Why do people type "*nix" instead of spelling it out?
School-itis seems, by far, the most likely explanation.
Inflamation of the school?
We already believe that because the bible said it thousands of years ago. Please, continue to expose your complete lack of knowledge regarding Christianity (which in not "religion" to true Christians).
It's not the brain that causes a husband to make sacrifices for his wife and children; when I wrap my arms around my beautiful wife and tell her that I missed her, it wasn't my brain that caused that; when someone finds a wallet full of cash and returns it to its owner with the same amount of cash in it, it's not because his synapses fired in a certain order/pattern.
Who we are is not the handfull of elements that make up our physical bodies, or the chemical interactions that occur in the gray matter. We all have a soul, which was designed to live forever. Once the shell takes it's last breath, the soul will continue... Where it continues is a simple decision every one of us will make before we die.
Of course, if you don't believe this "nonsense", please live your life to the fullest while you're here, because this is all you have.
Psalm 19:1 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
If you're familiar with the CAPS community at www.fool.com, you'll understand the concept. Make the records/numbers public and start ranking the individual screeners by their credibility - if they're right more often, their input gets more weight. People that provide innacurate analysis will be ranked less significant.
"You'd be a Homer Simpson if you paid after that."
No, you'd be HONEST! Great! people associate honesty with being dumb. The end is near - lol.
Excellent point. Much more eloquent and reasonable than mine.
I understand your point. Cane and Eve, as sick as is sounds, must have goteen together. The gene pool was a lot cleaner back then - lol. I do hope you don't base an entire disbelief of the bible on that one point. Every single prophecy in the book has come true so far. Scientists have used it to find geological locations due to its historical accuracy. Nothing scientific has ever proven anything in it wrong. It was written by 40 different authors over a span of thousands of years, yet Genesis to Revelation complement and relate perfectly. Have you read it? People (Lee Strobel for one) have set out to prove that it's just another book, and in the process have become Christians.
Contrary to popular belief, the bible and science complement each other. They are not polar opposites or in diametric opposition. Obviously they can't be since God himself created science, but I know most people in here don't share this viewpoint : ) And that's an example of the free will that He has granted you ; )
Get it straight BS spewers. I'm what you would refer to as a "fundamentalist" Christian. I believe the bible is the word of God, Jesus was the son of God, etc...
The bible tells us to "be good stewards of what God gives us". Look up the actual definition of a steward; nothing is ours - it all belongs to God. If God gave us this beautiful planet to live on and use, He expects/wants us to take care of it, be "good stewards" of it.
So, going forward, anyone that claims "Christians don't care about the planet", you're simply illinformed and don't know what the bible says.
I'm exactly the same way. A part of me despises the whole marketing industry, mainly because they really insult your intelligence by telling you absolutely nothing pertinent about the product. Rather, they try to project an image (happy family at dinner, attracting hot females, getting that promotion, etc.) I'm contantly wondering if there are people out there so weak minded that they actually buy into this crap.
You've got to be pretty low on the intelligence scale to buy car insurance based on a caveman, gecko, or stack of dollars with eyes.
They're capitalizing on the stupid.
I program, therefore I am.
