Interesting, I haven't heard this one before but it doesn't surprise me.

Just like with TomTom, Microsoft threatened to sue them for using FAT! I think that proves just how bad they are.

It is simple to me, Microsoft just want to make a big profit, that's all it is, making money!

They are not trying to bless the world with anything good, we already have Linux, Java and OpenOffice, OpenGL ...

They just want to trap you into their technologies and then make you pay for them, simple as that, that is Microsoft!

My advice is to avoid them at all costs, the world does not need Microsoft one bit!

Oh and by the way, they should of called ".Net", ".Windows" instead, cause that's what it is really!

A couple of cans of Red Bull and some good music can get me through a writing block.

After the Red Bull I usually end up pumping up the volume, a good sub-woofer really helps.

Also, start by just looking at where you where when you stopped work, that can help you start the process off again.

Make it as simple and painless as possible and try to mix it with fun!!

I care, and I am starting to realise that Apple restrict their users, so that they can make more money out of them.

The app store for instance. Also, the missing blu-ray drives and Apple TV instead.

At the end of the day, Apple is just another big company trying to make a big profit. And they are far from perfect, they take the p***.

I would much prefer a company that made money out of giving its customers more freedom!

Comment SATA II is a bag of hurt! (Score 1) 52

Apple still do not have a blu-ray option in any of their top end machines. A MacBook Pro 17" costs £1849 and only has the DVD SuperDrive!

Don't even mention the Mac Pro!

I've seen laptops for nearly a third of the price that can play blu-ray discs.

They are a strange bunch of folk. Quite isolationist, like a cult!

They also certainly want lots of your money!

I see Silverlight as just an attack on Linux. There is no way Microsoft will officially support it for Linux, just like Office.

Microsoft will continuously pour millions and millions into Silverlight development over the next few years and only offer it to Windows and Mac. Linux is not invited to the party. They have to struggle with unofficial moonlight and mono builds, that more than likely won't be able to keep up.

The bigger Silverlight becomes on the web, the weaker Linux becomes. That's what Microsoft are investing in. A way to make Linux a weaker platform.
