There aren't enough resources available for doing that, only for the filtering. If you want to have the authorities actually investigate crimes against children you're going to have to have a 15 cent tax for that.

Specifically, third party scripts and cookies. There's nothing I hate more than having to reject a slew of cookies and also having to pick through noscript to find out what I need to allow just to view a webpage. If it's too non-intuitive to weed through all that garbage I just close the tab.

I think it's been proven again and again that the only privacy available on the net is that which you go and secure for yourself. You almost have to become obsessive-compulsive fighting against cookies, scripts, and counters to protect yourself nowadays.

I know I'm late on this, but I haven't seen it mentioned yet. Doubletake is fantastic, and I've yet to have it fail me when moving stuff from point a to b on Windows systems. You didn't mention cost as a factor in the summary but I should note that it is most certainly not free, but if you have to make sure it gets there it may be worth it.

I have! I've used everything from the Odyssey through the Wii - I'm talking trackballs, light pens, R.O.B., the Atari paddle controllers (which are my 2nd favorite of all time thanks to Pong and Night Driver) and nothing has played as well as the SNES controller across so many games for any of the systems I've played. Heck, it was even useful in RPGs like FF3(6). On a related note, the worst controller of all time was the CDi.

I have always maintained that the original SNES controller is the best gaming controller ever developed. It has the right feel, just enough buttons, and great responsiveness. I haven't seen a better pad in 20+ years of gaming.

I have to agree with this. I've been browsing for so long with NoScript and AdBlock that I can't go back. No one should have to endure purple monkeys and flashing balloon animations on their pages.

I agree that there needs to be some penalty for dying, but the combination of factors involved in an EQ style death were just too much. I can't tell you how many times it was late at night and I was off soloing when going LD caused me to log back in at my bind point, naked, with absolutely no way to recover my stuff, time, and xp until the next day when guildies were on. Later on that got a bit better, but you still had to hope that you could find a necro at 3am that was willing to travel to zone x to summon for you. That didn't make me fear going into those places, that just flat out made me angry. There has to be a reasonable balance in the punishment and EQ didn't have it.
