Comment The era of store cards like sears in cs text books (Score 1) 45

Store cards where a thing in the 1980's, be they charge cards, or version two credit cards rebranded - which failed for some retailers in the uk - i am sure amazon could reinvent that rabbit as they have done with mail order.

Sears was the example of an academic case study . I guess a conversation with visa might have mentioned that idea and technical capability to reinvent sears charge card.

Visa is anti competition with the Olympics deal and if a pay network becomes non universal then it becomes not important.

Nobody forces you to use instant ink, we have a four in one hp with paid instant ink and save money by not buying non oem, or hp ink cartridges. I can fit any cartridge into it and probably only lose the rubbish ink quantty sensor from hp.

Even the instant ink carts have faults in

I do not work for hp Yes it is concerning this drm or use funny money at the company shop only but if i come across some shady scheme then other printer makers exist and i too will be off to that land of milk and honey.

Most normal consumers i know seem to have a spare bought cartridge and have yet to figure out instant ink

if sco-x [paid unix] was the attack dog for balmer and gates against linux and ibm - that went quiet now tsg group who will 'defend' microsofr when us linux users offend our new friends in microsoft land.

I really enjoy winding up system builders when i dont specify an os and they recommend a virus scanner to which i always ask them does it work on linux.

I personally think miscrosoft is bad and should be avoided like the plague.
