woah, seems you're real pissed that i stepped into your stupid internet argument, snowflake.
so what's the magic level of arbitrariness where it suddenly fucking matters?
i mean, we should use kelvins then cause it's even less arbitrarily defined than centigrade. the reason we don't isn't because of some asinine standard of arbitrariness.
life on this one planet, yes. tell me, what's the exact amount of 'arbitrariness' whereby a temperature calculation suddenly isn't 'arbitrary' enough to be a problem?
my point is the whole argument is stupid. F and C are both arbitrary, so what? that's not the reason we say one is better than the other. otherwise we'd be going with planck units. the reason we don't isn't 'arbitrariness', it's because it's fucking inconvenient as hell to use planck units in day to day calculations. but hey, they sure as shit aren't arbitrary are they!
we don't say the meter is better than the foot cause the foot is arbitrarily defined because the meter is too, even if it's a little less so than the foot. we say the meter is better because the metric system is far easier to calculate in because it's decimalized.
and arguing that, by my reasoning, the fine structure constant is also 'arbitrary' makes no sense, because it's a fundamental constant of the universe whether any life, much less human life, exists at all. making that argument implies that you don't know what the word 'arbitrary' even means.
i'm sorry you were mistaken, but i said that standard pressure was an arbitrary choice based on human experience.
i didn't say water was arbitrary. i said that choosing 1013.25 mb as the pressure at which we set the boiling point of it to be 100 units of measurement is arbitrary.
0C and 100C are the freezing and boiling point of water at standard pressure, which is an arbitrary choice based on "normal" human experience.
either way it's arbitrary at least in some way.
given musk's long history of coughing up overly-optimistic timelines for various tesla models, i'd say we're probably good for at least 15 years then
yeah that's why the dude also got his sentence reduced
every amendment costs the client money, every RCE costs the client money. there's way more money to be made in rejecting an application over and over again and getting more and more narrowing amendments out of the applicant before finally allowing the case
oh, that's the beauty part. when wintertime comes around, the bacteria simply freeze to death.
I stopped believing anything is real in 1997 after Hoffman and De Niro scared me in " Wag the Dog".
if you don't believe anything is real then why are you asking us all to tell you things about AI

i think you may want to turn your hot water heater down a bit
computer shopper was great cause once you were done with it you could roll it up and kill rats with it
oh yeah, baby. there were some pretty damn good games for the C64 in the back of some of them.
never mind the damage to the ecosystem dumping all that hot water into rivers does.
