Comment "Enthusiasts" (Score 1) 1009

If there is two things "Enthusiasts" share in common, its lots of cash, and the desire to have the latest and greatest.

All this decision would mean is having to buy a new motherboard when they want to upgrade their CPU, or vice versa.

Which most of them pretty much do anyway. And even if not, then they will have to spend a bit more of what they already have lots of.

No big deal.

But we have all been taught from an early age that it is wrong to feel guilt for killing bad guys. If you feel guilty, then you are *for* the bad guys, and therefore one of *them*. ( remember, its a binary good/evil world we live in, amiright?)

Killing bad guys is doing your country a service, we are taught. We are making the world a better place, a safer place, when we kill our enemies.

This we are taught. If any one disagrees with that, then they are unpatriotic, and aiding and abetting the enemy.

This we are taught, so it must be true.

Comment Ban (Score 3, Insightful) 297

Trying to ban killer robots is a waste of time, and wont work. There is also little desire to ban them overall, in the interests of health and safety.

Its safer to kill people using a robot than going out and risking your own skin with guns and/or explosives.
Remember, in this day and age, safety is paramount. You want to be able to kill people from a distance, safely and easily. Why run the risk of getting injured, or even worse, getting killed, when you can kill people using safer methods? Using a robot to kill people just makes sense.

Even worse, you could get sued for endangering the safety of others and breaking health and safety regulations. Killing other people can be a dangerous business, so reducing potential hazards and minimizing harm is a very prudent and right thing to do. You need to be able to kill people safely and efficiently. If you can kill people at a lower cost, then that is even better.

Thats why drones are so popular nowadays. All the benefits of killing people, without all the personal risk. Its a win-win all round.

Makes sense doesn't it?

Comment Of course Apple wont approve GMaps (Score 1) 347

Of course Apple wont approve it, as it would be "duplicating core functionality".

Apple still somehow think that their product is *always* better than the competition, even when the competition is better.

This is why, for example, there is no touchscreen keyboard innovation on iOS. Apple still think that their onscreen keyboard is the peak of touchscreen keyboard design that cannot ever be improved due to its complete and utter perfection. So while better third party keyboards are allowed on the app store, you cannot make any of them the default keyboard, which renders them all useless. Want real innovation? Go to Android.

What a load of horseshit.

Apple truly is the new Microsoft.

When will we finally get to see anti-trust litigation against Apple? It should have happened a long time ago.

Can't find that in my copies of the Constitution. Just that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Black was very much anti-Catholic and disrespectfully invoked Jefferson for his ruling.

Which is why America has been allowed to be quite badly infected with religion. America is a Christian Nation in all but name.

Its in their courtrooms, right on the wall behind the judge, an unmissable proclamation of belief in that particular God.

Its even in their money. Just look at most American coins and notes, you will see the same thing.

Its in their politics, no American President will get elected if he is not Christian. Its a "serious" question asked and hotly debated in the media.

Its in their public schools, even in the Science classroom, ignorantly shoved down your throat as "Intelligent Design" aka !Science

Bah!
Freedom(tm) my ass.

Its too disturbing to be funny, and too pathetic to be sad.

Comment What Nokia should have done (Score 1) 317

What Nokia should have done is not hire an ex microsoft executive as CEO who is obviously still very much in love with Microsoft.

The fact that he cannot see that Windows Phone is a doomed platform is a huge problem. Nokia is not going to save Windows Phone, and Windows Phone is not going to save Nokia.

What Nokia *should* have done is created a very good Android phone, with the quality and ease of use that Nokia is famed for. They have a real winner with PureView image sensors ( when used as designed, i.e. 8MP output images ), and they also know how to build quality hardware.

All the pieces to save Nokia were there, the opportunities to save Nokia were there.
But they blew it.

Nokia. R.I.P.
