IMHO, it's easier to get this right using RAII with C++ than with any of the toy languages (e.g., Java, .NET), all of which require explicitly freeing, destroying, releasing (or whatever) resources from each and every code path that may exit a given scope.

Many people get it without paying $20/month. Home Delivery Subscribers automatically get online access included free with the subscription price (which, BTW, was not raised when NYT put up the paywall). Android devices were unaffected by this change, BTW. Only the Apple Fanboys.

Wow! One step closer to Harry Potter style newspapers. All we need is a mechanism for printing these (think electronic ink or something derived thereof). Here's how it works: http://www.lytro.com/science_inside"

When your iPhone friends play with a block of wood, they're pretty much always impressed too. Don't give that too much weight.

Only if it has an Apple logo on it. Otherwise the fanbois will say that Apple could make superior wood blocks.

The people I know with iPhones tend to be more technologically challenged than those in my circle with Android phones, IMHO. While it may not be a statistically significant sample, the fact that someone went to the trouble of making this animation leads me to believe I might not be the only one who thinks so.

Pixie dust is odorless and colorless (so it won't aggravate your parents), and has the added advantage of not requiring fans (it disperses itself and stays suspending in the air). Finally, a tiny bit goes a long, long way, (so it's way cheaper). One thing that takes getting used to, though, is everyone being in a great mood. And finding a source is fairly difficult -- but worth it. :)
