Bottom line is that Apple's new campus will be a huge win for North Carolina. The increased tax revenue and Apple's spending on infrastructure far outweighs the roughly $20M per year tax reimbursements.

That's not the bottom line. The bottom line is whether this $20M being used to lower taxes for EVERYONE would have been a better net gain. The bottom line is does this create a moral hazard by giving Apple a major tax break that is not available to every other company. The bottom line is that this is a corrupt practice.

If you read "Atlas Shrugged", it is interesting to note that politicians play a minor role. It is mainly a story of how large corporations collude to buy off the government and corrupt the market place, resulting in disaster.

Big Tech, Big Oil, Big Pharma. . . they're all the same, and all too happy to collude with the government to get tax breaks.

You should get out of your basement and see what happens in the real world, 'cause that is a truly weird story you're telling yourself.

As a hobby welder and machinist, I get burned, cut, and scraped constantly. It doesn't take much to stop an infection. And how do you think humanity survived when disinfectants weren't even a thing until the last 100yrs or so, and people led much rougher lives instead of typing at a desk?

Funny that. And yet these places that you refer to with such bigotry and hatred had better outcomes than places like Michigan, New York, and California. Places where their fascist overlords wielded the mask mandates with iron fists.

And while I don't think masking up is generally of any use outdoors, it has no cost so "completely fucking insane" is a bit of a stretch.

Except for the reduced uptake of oxygen which tends to reduce one's intelligence, as evidence by your repeated rantings.

The CDC get the task of reviewing the science and advising government agencies. They are not tasked with and sort of balancing or considering practical limitations. The only reason you think they have such a responsibility is due to the ever increasing bureaucratic state, and elected politicians who ARE responsible for considering practical limitations dodging their jobs.

Citation needed.

And, no. The silly demonstration of some masks on a mannequin head was proof of absolutely nothing. Exactly how is "slowing things down" helpful when air currents will helpfully move "things"? The large studies conducted in multiple countries that demonstrate the masks are pointless does prove quite a lot.
