Comment Gates said this before (Score 3) 168

When he was trying to get schools in the U.S. to train more children to be able to work in a world with IT. But all Bill was really trying to do was get schools scared about falling behind in their technology knowledge and then have Microsoft save the day by selling school districts a whole bunch of Windows software. At an educational discount of course. Bill Gates is not your friend and doesn't care about anyone's kids IT knowledge.

Comment What movies? (Score 1) 292

Netflix doesn't have much in the way of any good movies. Along with this hi-def stuff is Netflix going to actually have movies people want to watch? Currently this isn't much of a selection on line. If their price goes up and they don't start getting betting movie selections I unsubscribe. Sure I like watching old TV shows and other such things but I can live with out it or just get it from vudu or hulu.

A high number on an IQ test correlates to someone with a more agile and efficient mind. That is all. Would you hire someone as a programmer who had an measured IQ of 100 over someone who had an IQ of 120? We have no absolute measure for intelligence. If we did we would be able to identify intelligence in other animals as well as in humans. We just have a few tests whose results are correlated to something resembling intelligence. I would think those with higher IQ have already figured out that once money is given to do a study a paper has to be written and it better be a good one.

Here are some questions for you. Why are you interviewing your boss? Is there no one there above you that can interview a perspective boss? Why would you tolerate being the person to interview your boss? What I am trying to say is that a worker should never have to, expect to, or want to interview their boss. If your company things you have what it takes to interview your boss then you should be the boss. If you choose not to be the boss then you should also step away from any hiring decisions for your boss. You should really just step away from the task and tell your company to find another sucker for the job.

"And unfortunately, while we may not -like- a lot of the decisions coming out of there lately, they are by and large legally sound (granted: they are lawyers, so they're good at rationalizing most anything)." With a lot of the recent decisions it seems the law really has little to do with it. If it was just based on law there wouldn't be so many 5 to 4 decisions. Most decisions would be 9 to 0. Which means the laws are not written well which then means they are not good laws to begin with and the court should either refuse to hear most cases or excuse themselves from the decision because there isn't enought "meat" in the current law to make a valid decision.
