This NEEDS to happen. I'm certain this idea was thought up by some marketing drone.

Marketing Ass 1: "I got a great idea! Let's force google to take down links to our movies! That will TOTALLY make people want to see and buy our movies!"
Marketing Ass 2: "But how will they know about it...?"
Marketing Ass 1: "Fuck you, we're doing it anyway."

The less I hear/see about these asinine movies, the better. (Even though it's a rarity these days that the movie studios actually release a NEW movie, instead of some shitty ass 3d version of an older one).

You don't need a college degree if you have these two things:

1) Technical Skills - The skills actually needed to do your job. Essential.
2) People Skills - The skills to actually talk to people and convince them that you're not an idiot. Convincing people that you're worth the time and the money is the 2nd most important skill you can have.

I'm making more money than all of my 4-year degree friends because I decided long ago to educate myself in a field that's likely to GROW (and not things like art history, where you go to school just to teach other kids, so they can teach other kids, and so on) and because I can talk to people and have them see me as an asset and not a potential liability.

Submission + - Teacher Suspended Over YouTube Video About Anti-Gay Bullying (annarbor.com)

An anonymous reader writes: A teacher at a public high school in Michigan has been suspended without pay for playing a YouTube music video that addresses the subject of anti-gay discrimination for her students. The song was originally requested by a student. Does such strict censorship of content undermine the usefulness of technology in the classroom? Does it make sense to ban "controversial" material from classroom computers when schools themselves provide paper copies of classic literary works that are full of controversy themselves?

"The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii are nearing their end. As powerful as they have been in the living room, gamers want more."

Quoted from TFA. Am I the only one who wants LESS? I don't really want my game system to do 9 million things. I just want it to play games.

Then again, when was the last time we were actually listened to? Draconian DRM, the removal of OtherOS, etc...

I don't know, I think Republicans, reknowned for their respect for nerds, are capable of producing useful, eye catching, state of the art, web sites when they try: http://unskewedpolls.com/

Haha. A favorite site listed at the bottom of that website is a link to Rush Limbaugh's site. I guess the thinking is if they make a site look as shitty as drudge report, that it must be that much more credible.
