So this is one good way to convert excess heat in the atmosphere and beam it out into space?

Though you would need a LOT of these low power LEDs to do it.

I wonder if you could actually use the LEDs to convert enough heat into light into a useable form to power twice as many LEDs in the first place.

Comment Holes in Chips. (Score 1) 127

I remember a slashdot argument months ago where I was trying to come up with ways to create larger multiprocessor CPUs given current limitations. I believe one idea I had was to make holes for data/connectors of some kind. Nice to see great minds thinking alike! (The other person in the argument was basically being negative rather than trying to find solutions like this. Ha ha.)

Created from fear, taught by fear, knows only fear.

Seriously, if the DHS don't have the wits to figure out the quote was from a popular cartoon from their own country and that 'destroy' is well known slang for 'party down the house' (which also sounds semi-evil. dun dun dun) from the country the Twitter user is coming from then the DHS have more problems than terrorists to worry about. Or rather, the USA does given they've been giving this new dept a bit too much of a leash.

Seriously, DHS and TSA were bad, bad ideas and mostly created to give voters the illusion that Bush was Doing Something. Well, he did something all right but not for the better from what I've been hearing.

Gah. I never said it was not a global issue, merely that I would not START with them. My first post, which seems to be no more, was to point to someone in my own country who went to great lengths to list what a Great Idea SOPA is. *sarcasm included at end there*

Personally, I'm happy support is falling for both SOPA and PIPA. Horribly done bills.
