Comment That's why you have an OS partition/drive... (Score 1) 120

Comment Simultaneous landings and takeoffs (Score 1) 58

I can't believe we allow this. It's perfectly accepted for aircraft big or small to takeoff and land simultaneously directly next to each other on close parallel runways. A mechanical failure, communication failures, flight plan mistake, simultaneous go around, or who knows what kind of series of unfortunate events could end in real disaster. This isn't only about the planes but also people on the ground in dense urbanized surroundings. Remember, most aviation accidents happen during takeoff and landing. Many accidents are due to a series of failures or misunderstandings, rather than one single event. I know airports are often overloaded, but that too is yet another reason not to do these simultaneous landings and takeoffs.

Comment Wow another Chinese breakthrough huh? (Score 2) 44

Something definitely won't happen causing the work to be lost. Then the people behind it won't need to seek funding to recreate the event. It's certainly not like the Chinese government is desperate to make a name for itself because of trade policy. The US will have to open trade again once they find out China has these amazing quantum computers. This is about as clever as the CIA in the 1950s.
