Agreed.

I just launched a balloon (again) last Sunday.

The balloon and helium alone cost us $800 (we made it to 103k ft using a bigger more expensive balloon).

Unless people are giving you free money, thats the bare minimum - not even accounting for the cost of tracking and filming equipment. Or the gas needed to drive 4 hours following the balloon . . .

It's an arms race, a never ending one, and spammers will always figure out a way around anything - given time.

I'm currently using the Electronic Goldmine Geiger Counter Kit, with a microcontroller to process and datalog the events. The specs aren't well defined, but if I put a smoke detector (the radioactive part) next to it, it goes absolutely crazy.

Sure these units are very limited, but technology wise the same.

It appears they forgot the whole 'checks and balances' thing when enacting a powerful censorship law. I'm not even sure what the 'Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement' has to do with copyright enforcement.

But hey, already found a scapegoat, a 'fresh college graduate' who'll be labeled as over-zealous while those actually in charge zip by.

I'm all for a country choosing it's destiny, just not dictators of that country being allowed to choose by killing their own people that disagree.

Despite your anti-US sentiment, South Korea would look like North Korea if not for our meddling. Europe would have become Nazi if not for our meddling. China would be a province of Japan if not for our meddling.

Sure, we messed up a few times, but don't be selective in your evidence.

I am all for the release of corruption and crimes, and against the suppression of leaks thereof. But that is not what happened.

Sure, having all your emails posted on the net for the international media to comment about can be embarrassing, but that doesn't make you a criminal. A quarter million documents were released, and not a single crime has yet to be found. Nadda. And frankly, as far as other governments are concerned, that makes me very proud of being an American.

So to you US-bashers, stop hating until a crime has actually been found.
