I know you're joking, but I really wouldn't put it past them. The world has seen greed turn a profit on suffering before, and I really wouldn't be surprised if something came about to hinder the development or application of a cure, if one is ever reached.

has gradually changed from a company that says "we'll make this useful product because no one else will make it the way you need it", into a company that says "we're making it the way we want and you'll have to like it".

How many other companies have gone down this road? They start as the cool new company who makes things for the user, and slowly grow into a company that tries to dictate what the user needs.

I remember when Microsoft used to be cool.

By leaving it open ended, they're free to enforce the ban whenever they feel it's fitting for them; picking and choosing any "offending" software when they feel it's warranted.
