but I keep it simple, I have 3 keys and they never leave my pocket: - 1 for the house - 1 for the car - 1 for the mailbox That's all... There are 3 different doors to access my house, each with a different key, but I just have one of them, I always use the same door. As for your three girlfriends... Just keep one. Share the others addresses with fellow Slashdot readers. You'll have less keys and more friends. ;-)

As does Mozilla and SeaMonkey. One field for address bar and search is more convenient than having to click in another area to perform search. This just is a design choice and doesn't affect privacy in any way. Except if your direct url requests are sent to Goggle. I never used Chrome so I don't know know but I don't think it's the case. 90% of Microsoft announcements are meaningless at best and spread false information at worse. They don't care as long as we talk about their products. That's free advertising. Result: everybody heard at least once about "Microsoft".

FreeNAS Switching From FreeBSD To Debian Linux 206

dnaumov writes "FreeNAS, a popular, free NAS solution, is moving away from using FreeBSD as its underlying core OS and switching to Debian Linux. Version 0.8 of FreeNAS as well as all further releases are going to be based on Linux, while the FreeBSD-based 0.7 branch of FreeNAS is going into maintenance-only mode, according to main developer Volker Theile. A discussion about the switch, including comments from the developers, can be found on the FreeNAS SourceForge discussion forum. Some users applaud the change, which promises improved hardware compatibility, while others voice concerns regarding the future of their existing setups and lack of ZFS support in Linux."

I buy music on vinyl too. But today's mixers are digital so when you plug in your turntable, sound is processed through a DSP at 24-bit 96kHz on mainstream club mixers (like the DJM-800) or 32-bit on high-end equipment. Many say that digital mixers sound better than analog ones but the truth is that records simply sound different, not better, it's an illusion. As for MP3, I can just tell that OGG sampled at the same bit rate sound better than MP3. Too bad most portable music players/car radios don't support it.
