You really have no idea what you are talking about. Conservatives believe that the government should be limited in nature, that people should work for what they have instead of having it given to them at someone else's expense, and that life is sacred.

Nothing about any of those things is anti-technology. None of those is racist or any other label you may want to put on conservatives based on msnbc talking points. The governor is at odds with the constitution and the SCOTUS sided with the constitution.

Maybe Microsoft will get Bethesda to actually create games that people want instead of new games that noone is interested in. Fans of the Elders Scrolls series keep waiting for ES6, but Bethesda keeps making mediocre games that aren't interesting as well as trying to keep the Skyrim cash cow alive for as long as possible.

Skyrim was a great game....9 years ago.

Submission + - SPAM: When Teachers Call the Cops on Parents Whose Kids Skip Their Zoom Classes

schwit1 writes: If there's one thing the public school system shouldn't be doing right now, it's making life even more hellishly difficult for parents. And yet many teachers in the state of Massachusetts are contacting the authorities to report parents for suspected child abuse when kids fail to show up for Zoom classes.

"Massachusetts school officials have reported dozens of families to state social workers for possible neglect charges because of issues related to their children's participation in remote learning classes during the pandemic shutdown in the spring," The Boston Globe reported on Saturday.

The infuriating article is worth reading in full. The Globe spoke with several parents who have received calls and visits from the state Department of Children and Families (DCF). The department has the power to remove children from their homes and place them in foster care if agents suspect that kids are being mistreated, abused, or neglected—and DCF considers distance-learning no-shows to be possible abuse cases. DCF lists numerous circumstances in which teachers should feel obliged to call the cops, among them kids appearing tired or hungry during Zoom sessions.

Submission + - New Jersey Election Invalidated Because of Mail-In Voter Fraud (nytimes.com)

An anonymous reader writes: A New Jersey election has been invalidated by a judge, and a new election has been ordered to be held, due to rampant mail-in voter fraud.\

The mayor of Paterson praised the ruling. "It was the right ruling," Mayor Andre Sayegh told CNN. "That past election was fraught with fraud."

Four people were charged with criminal conduct in connection to the fraudulent election, including a Paterson councilman and the councilman-elect.

You do realize for that to be effective, the entire WORLD would have to do the exact same thing for 2-3 months.

Either that or lock down the borders until an antivirus is created. No one in or out. In the US, that would never happen. Both sides of the political spectrum would fight against that.

The problem with your solution, is that as soon as restrictions are relaxed, someone outside the area is going to re-introduce the virus to that population and we start over. The genie is out of the bottle. We either have indefinite lock downs and restrictions or we live our lives and hope for the best. I think most people are already tired of the lock downs we have had for the last 4+ months, so they are choosing the latter.

A full NINE miles? I guess there was no way it could have escaped from that lab then. Not one or two, but NINE. It would take you like a full 3 hours to walk that nine mile distance. I wish we had access to something that was faster than walking, but im glad they finally settled this by letting us know it was an insurmountable distance away from the supposed epicenter.
