Shouldn't it be:
Star Wars (1977)
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Episode IV: A New Hope (1981) - first of a long list of edits, I suppose
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Comment Do they really mean Fortiguard? (Score 3, Informative) 39

IMHO, the wording of this article is bound to cause misunderstanding. Fortiguard is a threat intelligence service and security research arm of Fortinet. Fortinet devices pull info FROM Fortiguard and use them in policies, but I'm not sure why they call Fortiguard a "popular cybersecurity suite". Everything I've read so far suggests that Volt Typhoon is targeting misconfigured internet-facing SOHO devices, including Fortigates, but maybe there is more info to come.

Seems to me that maybe part of the software creation process would now need to include a high level "correct-operation" description, one against which the code repair process could refer when repairing the code. I guess that means the code breakers would then focus their attention on the "correct-operation" portion and try to corrupt it and then try to provoke a code repair operation.

Coca Cola from Mexico (and I presume other countries south of the US) is also bottled with sugar, not corn syrup. I have heard second-hand that larger markets in the US also get Coca Cola bottled with sugar (denoted by yellow caps) for Passover. I haven't personally seen Passover Coke, but I love Mexican Coca Cola. It does have a different taste.

I wondered about this very idea on Slashdot back in 2018. Got a slight shudder when reading this article, but I've made my peace with the idea that any technological idea I may come up with has likely already been thought up by someone smarter than me with more resources. Will this attack prove workable in the wild? Hard to tell right now.

My coworker and I were discussing the show, and when I pointed out that the writers only got access to the LoTR books and appendices, and not the Silmarillion (though there seem to be some grey areas), he exclaimed, "that explains so much!". They took liberties for sure, but what bothered me the most was that they were trying so hard to get the maximum mileage from the appendices without having unfettered access to the much richer material in the Silmarillion. As a high-budget fantasy show all on its own, it was entertaining enough that I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it. Looking at it as a tie-in to the Hobbit/LoTR/Silmarillion world, I found it jarring at times but still entertaining. I did enjoy the fact they had a large budget; Douglas Adams put it nicely - "Little expense had been spared to give the impression that no expense had been spared".
