Because that is the deal-killer for me.
I don't use facebook since it is a crap website, crap company and the services they provide of no actual value.

The problem is that " flooding social media with AI generated crap?" is how the far right dispenses most of their information as well and their base supporters eat it up.
That Russia, China and North Korea will do all the can to de-stabilize the US of A.
Anything they can do to weaken the US internally will also weaken us on a global level.
They will continue to hack and spread disinformation about Biden in order to try and get Trump elected since that is the best way to further the continued downfall of the United States of America.
Unfortunately a large segment of the US populace already believes the garbage spewing forth from the far-right.
Hopefully there are enough folks in this country paying attention to keep us a free nation and relegate Trump to where he belongs: a footnote in history as the only US president to commit sedition and try to overthrow the elected government.
Go back to Russian, putin-lover.
How well does Linux run on it?
I've had a few Macs over the years and found that they were actually pretty decent machines once I upgraded the os.,
But the MacOS ui is just garbage.
Maybe a small step above Windows 8, but not as good as Win10 and neither can touch linux with XFCE or even KDE.
And a degree has never guaranteed a high paying job.
All a college degree has ever done is:
a) open some doors that would otherwise be closed
b) increase probable pay potential after a period of time (typically 8-10 years after graduation)
These things are often still true though possibly less than they used to be in some fields.
The main driver of the "need" for a college education is the desire to not do manual labor or even skilled trades in the US and a contributing factor is that the US economy is no longer based on production but instead the movement of money(value) from one virtual account to another.
A skilled tradesman can get work after vocational high school or a two year vocational program and have a head start on the college students.
Initial earnings will often be greater than the college grads for a number of years but tends to slow down and cap earlier and lower than the degree holders.
All that said, some college grads do walk into high pay right out of college and some college dropouts make it rich.
Some high school dropouts make it rich.
But here is a fact for you: the trades are more secure employment, as long as you are willing to WORK and can meet basic competency levels.
If you don't want to work or are not competent - just go get an MBA.
Trump and the neo-cons have been doing that for years
Google started out providing users a service they wanted:
Fast, accurate search results without a lot of garbage
- Since then they have "improved" Google search to the point of being comparable to Bing - ie.: not very good
Fast, easy to use webmail
-since then they have improved it to the point of being crappy but usable on a computer but basically irrelevant on a cellphone screen. Outlook Mobile is better than the Gmail app.
Google Maps was something of a revelation when introduced
- since then they have filled it with so much garbage and now a horrible UI color scheme that it is next to unusable.
Google seems to be on a path to self destruction.
There will be others who pick up the slack as Google fails.
Is that anyone uses microsoft online accounts OR Windows "Hello" on their computer.
Just crazy - don't people have ANY concept of security??
Ferrari does it and Ford did it with the GT.
Of course those are exotics and most of the typical rules often don't apply in that market.
Personally I see this as hoping the cult of Tesla may immediately overvalue the "cybertruck" as a result of this.
There are much better and more viable (as well as better looking) electric pickup trucks in the market.
Clarification:
Linux is a kernel, not an OS.
For this topic I will pretend that everyone reading is aware of this.
As for having a single "official" distribution - that is just crazy talk.
Linux can be:
- a headless server for web, databases, virtual machines or other enterprise level purposes (too many to list, really and they do NOT all need the same core software)
- a desktop oriented to productivity applications
- a desktop oriented to gaming applications
- a phone OS oriented towards modern smart phone use
- and more.
Note that the above is just a small portion of the current uses for distributions using a Linux kernel and these can have widely divergent needs and specializations.
While it is generally possible to make any linux distribution do anything any other distribution can do - why would you go through the hassles??
That would be like using Windows 11 as an enterprise database server - might be possible but it sure would be silly, just like it would be to use Server 2019 Datacenter as the operating system on an ultralight notebook.
Use the proper tools for the job.
Some distributions do a very good job making an easy desktop for novice users.
Others are great for handling millions of transactions for enterprise use on a 10G network.
Linux distributions have a great strength in their ability to be customized for specific use cases and this includes KEEPING the operating system customizable for power users when desired.
This is something that all current versions of Windows and Apple operating systems have lost.
IF your environment and workflow fits cleanly within Apple's or Microsoft's methods and procedures they CAN be a good choice.
But don't you dare deviate - your environment will eventually break.
As for hardware and software compatibility - I have read the old trope about "linux having bad hardware support" for years and it has never been accurate.
If you are having this problem you are doing it wrong.
Thanks for some more proof that chatpt is useless.
While I generally find Toyota products to be bland and boring I do understand and agree with their general thoughts on EVs.
Getting more hybrids (lower price and less unobtainium needed for batteries) and fewer electric vehicles (higher price, more rare metals need plus difficulty of battery recycling) on the road more could easily be done to minimize the man-made causes of the warming climate changes.
Plus - compressed hydrogen is a great alternative that just needs some infrastructure investment to be viable.
140Mandak262Jamuna - I suggest getting some education on the subject before disparaging it.
