I love the fact he has another comic on the phrase "In five years"
I personally, think they should stay in the same place they currently are, so its easier to associate where the camera feeds are coming from, but maybe thats me just being used to what I'm used to.
The big deal is that most days I can't even see my backup camera display either some random glare spot is created by the sun shining through any of the windows in my vehicle or this display is simply to dim to begin with. So, I can't imgine this going main stream unless the displays were either Mini CRTs or some decent replacement came out that could provide enough light to be useful in the day.
I have a hard time carrying if an AI can beat me in a game unless its an AI that receives its video feed over camera feeds of the game play and then mechanically moves the mouse and keyboard to play. Maybe they are frame scanning directly to the AI, but still need to simulate input delays with more then a stochastic timer.
However, it’s worth noting that the greater the number of DeepMind bots on a team, the worse they did. A team of four DeepMind bots had a win probability of 65 percent, suggesting that while the researchers’ AI agents did learn some elements of cooperative play, these don’t necessarily scale up to more complex team dynamics.
I also find this interesting. Still the most recent results in the field are very promising.
Agreed
I think this is a regional difference. Where I am all plugs are stacked on top of each other not side by side. So that Samsung design is Perfect. Compare that to an old DC Wall wart where you can't plug it in the top plug with out blocking the bottom plug.
Power strips come in both orientations so as a designer your screwed. Thing that really bugs me about that article is his complaint about the apple charger. When it has a removable plug adapter so you can plug an extension cord in to it. We can make fun of it catching on fire, fraying and all the other things the design does, but plug ability isn't one of them.
This just seamed like a excuse to rant.
I see this confusion all the time. Everything people complain about is the returning to "Normal Time".
Honestly, the most expensive part of DST is the modern debates about keeping DST. Computers handle the rest on most clocks by now and you hardly need to worry about it.
This man needs props
Not to mention Sharper Image lost court cases about fraudulent claims.
This was a feature on my Mint Laptop last winter when my car heater went out.
Consensus is in. Billions of Clock Cycles and Billions of Transistors can't be wrong. Clearly Earth is rare!
Well, if they can't make money off it anymore we will gladly accept it uploaded to git hub.
good luck proving this isn't true.
This is amazing. I have been educated. I was going to mod you up, but apparently my points ran out.
Of course insurance will be different between a self driving car and a human driving car. Just like it is different between my self and my co-workers based on our driving history. However, the question is what is the insurance for. If I am buying liability insurance for a autonomous object then the rationale like car insurance must be such the vehicles are so likely to be in an accident that I need a method of paying off other individuals before I can recoup my losses from google. This is akin to needing public transit insurance to pay off people hit by a city bus I was ridding. I was not in control of the vehicle at the time of the incident I had no way of prevention the accident from occurring and it would have occurred weather I was on the bus, so the insurance is paid for by the City who operates the bus and not the passengers.
PURGE COMPLETE.
