Also (concerning the article) consider the source. Who is better positioned to make money off of market movement up or down? Average joe slashdot, or the folks managing 10 TRILLION in assets.

I came here to say exactly this. Mod up and tie a bow on it. It doesn't hurt that you may have buried a skeleton or two with some of these folks, motivating them to go the extra mile on your behalf and vice versa.
Going to throw a bit of devil's advocacy in here. Can you also realistically argue that the greater good, by fiat, requires a sizable portion of the population to be unable to earn a living?
The mask argument is a long one, but can be summarized as 'mixed results'. The social distancing, not touching your head, and frequent hand washing are long proven methods that work and do not require draconian measures to implement.
