Comment Android Auto doesnt work for me (Score 1) 209

It at some point worked briefly, but for the vast majority of the time ive had my car, it either gets stuck in the car telling me to do something in the phone at the same time the phone says to do something in the car, or the phone just isnt recognized at all. I gave up trying some time ago.

At least the phone still charges from the car usb...

Comment If only Restricted Mode worked... (Score 1) 57

So, Youtube's Restricted Mode claims to block swearing and sex and stuff. When I turned that on, we were still bombarded with all the swearing you can imagine, and plenty of sexual innuendo. But, it did block SpaceX launches. Kindof like how Outblook online email (where hotmail takes you now, for example), the in-front "focused" messages are all garbage for me, and anyhting I want to read I have to click more to get to other conversations area. Completely backwards.

The Youtube Kids is of limited value anyway, it's not on my Roku, not on smart TV, not on lots of screens that plain Youtube app is featured.

Thanks guys, it's almost like you are trying to be a horrible place for kids.

Comment Electric house heating? (Score 1) 312

How about making practical use of all that, at least in the cold of winter, to heat the house? You want something that generates heat, and pay for power to accomplish that, but is this a practical possibility to have bitcoin miners and other compute-intensive things also be practical in terms of power usage and heat generated, at least for part of the year?

Comment Trump does diplomacy??!! (Score 1) 332

That shows this is nonsense right there. Trump doing diplomacy? There is nothing plausible about that part, and voids the rest.

>>"Trump was on the verge of revealing [aliens existence], but the aliens in the Galactic Federation are saying, "Wait, let people calm down first,'" Eshed, who

Again, Trump wanting the masses to be calm? There's no ratings in calm or peace, and we know nothing else has any value than ratings and thus income. Trump wants us "sane"? Look around...

Comment My story about them (Score 1) 32

My son was interested in the idea, and we signed up for the one free trial class session. At the designated time, we logged in, but there was no instructor present. After about 20 minutes we gave up waiting and logged out. To my surprise, in email we received a detailed personality profile about my son, who was determined by the instructor's assessment to be INFJ - An Idealist Personality. He is 75% introvert, 70% intuitive, 76% feeling, 83% judging and there is a mroe detailed report to download and review. Uhm... How did they determine any of that? There was nothing done to observe, and no one there to observe it, to make any such analysis of any kind. They continue to nag us by phone, and each time I ask them to put us on their Do Not Call List, which they of course ignore. Recently, we have also been getting phone calls from Qmath, which from the sounds of things is related to WHJ - Indian accents, description as a one instructor to one student arrangement like WHJ, etc. I have asked the Qmath reps to stop calling as well. I have told them their repeated phone calls are harrassment, and that they are wasting their time, yet they are undeterred. Please, WHS and Qmaths, stop calling us. (Even if Qmaths is unrelated, sorry, you sound too similar and we are not interested, period.) We will not spend any money on you. I promise. Let's not waste any more of each others time on the phone.

Comment Lockdown Browser was a mess for a certification (Score 1) 221

IPC CID+ certification abotu PCB design, they used Lockdown browser as their anti-cheat tool, and it was kindof a mess in my situation. The problem started with the instructor not knowing he was setting the exam time window in UTC. He told us it was EDT. open until 6pm. The webpage said 6pm, and I happened to be in EDT at the time, At 2pm EDT, those of us still taking th etest were rudely kicked out. (that was 6pm UTC...) I waited a few hours for IPC's IT department to try and reset things. At 9pm I was able to attempt something again, the browser started up, but the exam did not appear. Blank page. But guess what? Lockdown browser hijacked my laptop. IT told me to power-button it off. Then booted back into Windows, but no power options in start menu - no restart, no shutdown, nothing. Ctrl-Alt-Del to get to the bluescreen menu, no shutdown there either, no task manager. Stuck in a Zombied state. IT couldn't help,. I found instructions on Lockdown website to run the browser in a special mode to reset things and release my laptop. It was another 3 days before I got to take the exam. (I can now call myself a CID+, but yeesh...)

Comment Remap to something useful (Score 1) 62

I can't remember if I ever used CapsLock for what it is. My past 3 laptops have had Windows registry changes to remap CapsLock key to act as a Left-Ctrl, which is far more useful, and less hard on my hands to contort to do the native Left-Ctrl button, especially at same time as shift.
