This post made my day !!! Thank you.
It's like cutting off an inch of the bottom of a blanket, sewing that inch to the top of the blanket and saying "I made the blanket longer".
- I ran out of gas! I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare!
- My tux didn't come back from the cleaners.
- And old friend came in from out of town!
- Someone stole my car!
- There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts!
- It wasn't my fault, I swear to God!
Asking for an "official" version of Linux is like asking the human race to standardize on a single religion. Never going to happen...
And by using that same logic of no more fines, why should there be traffic tickets? Someone goes 60 mph over the speed limit would no longer be ticketed as well.
200kw battery, enough to power an average house for 20 days? Maybe an Amish house, but NOT a typical house.
In 1980 I was 18 and saved up money mowing lawns and working at a grocery store stocking shelves and cleaning the meat cutting machines.
Bought an Apple II with 48k memory, a floppy drive, and a Applesoft basic ROM card. I could then flip a switch and boot between integer basic which was significantly faster, or floating point basic.
Learned enough from that purchase to go into the IT field right out of high school and have been doing it for over 42 years now.
This guy has no idea about the ramifications of what this would do to heating the earth, how if would screw up plants and animals.
Life has evolved and flourished based on daily changes in sunlight.
Would seem a lot better use of funds to put towards research of fusion or something like that.
I'm wondering if the reason they don't want to have AM radios, is that without it, they can get by with less shielding in the cables and electronics, since low frequency AM is FAR more susceptible to RFI generated by everything in the EV than FM is.
If they embedded induction coils in the roadways, there would not be a need to stop to charge. Granted, they would need to put pickup coils in the bottom of the EV's.
You would always be drawing from the induction coils right below the surface of the road and not need to stop to recharge.
Apple's laptops of recent all have soldered in only memory that is not upgradable at all. Sounds like they saw them still successful and followed suit.
Even if 15% of the people changed from ICE engine powered vehicles to EV, the US grid would be brought to it's knees. The grid has to be improved and more generation plants need to be online before ramp up of EV sales.
You want to make money in VR, you don't inflict pain, go for pleasure.
You make certain activities in the metaverse feel real and real good, and you'll be a billionaire overnight !
How are they going to get past the issue of the aged telomeres?
